What We Do

Community-Engaged Research
We support organizations in co-designing research with community members. Our goal is to ensure that the people who are directly impacted by the research outcomes are involved throughout the process of identifying public health priorities, conceptualizing research questions, and co-creating programs and interventions that affect their own lives.

Program and Process Evaluations
We evaluate public health programs, combining rigorous secondary data review with primary qualitative data collection and analysis through a health equity lens. We examine aggregate outcomes and differential impacts across subgroups, as well as the structural factors that shape who benefits from programs and processes and who does not.

Health Equity Impact Assessments (HEIAs)
We conduct HEIAs for healthcare facilities to ensure that community voices are centered in proposed changes to healthcare service delivery. We critically examine the landscape and meaningfully engage communities to assess the impacts of proposed changes on access to care.

How We Work
Methodologically, we lead with qualitative depth through interviews, focus groups, and participatory methods. We carefully listen to communities and translate what we hear into actionable findings with and for communities and decision makers. We use rapid qualitative analysis to deliver findings within timelines that match real-world decision-making needs, without sacrificing rigor.
Relationally, we lead with trust. To us, community engagement is not an output to deliver, but a practice to honor across the life of a project. Our work is culturally adaptive and delivered in multiple languages according to community needs, and we work with clients and communities to build dissemination plans that prioritize the communities involved in the research.
